Alpha Domus was established in 1991 to produce premium wines from an immaculate 20 hectare vineyard on the western Heretaunga Plains near Havelock North, New Zealand. The alluvial soils characteristic of this area combined with low rainfall and high summer temperatures provides ideal growing conditions for high quality fruit. Careful viticultural management aimed at low crop yields further enhances the ripeness and varietal flavours.

Horses have been a way-of-life at Ngatarawa since 1890 when Irishman, George Donnelly, built the historic stables and began racing thoroughbreds. Today the legacy continues. The stables are now home to Ngatarawa Wines and the New Zealand Corban family, who continue their 100-year winemaking heritage. The horse’s head symbolises wines of pedigree and class available in four premium ranges: Alwyn, Glazebrook, Silks and Stables. ‘Wines that truly grace the table’.
Groups are welcome by appointment. The picturesque grounds are ideal for picnics by the lily pond.

Sileni Estates was born from a long standing interest in wine by Graeme Avery, a pharmaceutical scientist and former owner of medical publishing company adis International. In late 1997, along with financial director Chris Cowper and winemaker Grant Edmonds, he established Sileni as an export oriented producer committed to crafting world-class fine wines.
